Petite Friture introduces two new outdoor lighting collections that merge design research, technical performance, and contemporary aesthetics: Spline and Quasar. Both pieces are conceived for modern outdoor living and explore light as a flexible and expressive material, balancing functionality, durability, and user interaction in different yet complementary ways.
Designed by David Derksen, Spline reinterprets traditional string lighting through a modular and contemporary lens. Inspired by maritime ropes, the design is built around a flexible structure that integrates a continuous LED strip and a translucent satin finish, resulting in a soft yet architectural presence. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, Spline extends over 4.5 meters and comes in two two-tone variations, brown/orange and beige/blue. Its adaptable system includes integrated clips that allow the light to be shaped freely along its length, while 2.5-meter suspension cords enable it to be hung from ceilings or wrapped around architectural or natural elements such as trees. Beyond its expressive form, Spline is designed with functionality in mind: it is dimmable via a switch positioned on the 10-meter power cable and delivers a powerful 4000-lumen output. Sustainability is also central to its design, with a fully dismountable structure and a replaceable LED module that extends its lifecycle and improves recyclability.
Quasar, designed by Samy Rio, translates the idea of a quasi-stellar light source into a compact, portable lighting object defined by purity and balance. Its circular form and essential aesthetic combine elegance with practicality, making it suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor settings. Rated IP54, Quasar ensures protection against dust and water splashes, while its powder-coated aluminum structure guarantees durability and a timeless finish. The lamp is available in four color options—grey, blue, purple, and green—and includes a cord that enhances its portability and hanging possibilities. Equipped with LED technology, Quasar delivers high-performance, long-lasting illumination and features a multifunction dimmer that allows selection between three color temperatures (warm, neutral, and cool white) and three intensity levels. Fully USB rechargeable, it offers up to 24 hours of autonomy, supporting flexible and mobile lighting use.
Alongside its lighting proposals, Petite Friture also highlights two outdoor furniture collections designed for contemporary living and long-term durability. The Week-End collection, designed by Studio Brichet-Ziegler, offers a wide range of seating solutions available in 23 colors and multiple configurations. Lightweight, stackable, UV-resistant, and highly durable, it is engineered for intensive outdoor use and supported by a 5-year warranty. The Fromme collection, designed by Tom Chung, is defined by clean lines and a compact, functional structure. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, it combines resistance and versatility, offering multiple configurations and a broad color palette, also backed by a 5-year warranty.
