An important recognition enriches the history of contemporary Italian design: Angelo Mangiarotti’s Eros table has received the Compasso d’Oro ADI Career Award for Product during the XXIX edition of the award ceremony, held on May 22, 2026, at the ADI Design Museum in Milan.
This prestigious award is assigned to products still in production that, over time, have demonstrated outstanding historical, cultural, and economic value, becoming true icons capable of remaining relevant across generations.
Designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1971, Eros still stands out today as one of the most significant examples of structural essentiality and constructive clarity within the international design landscape. More than fifty years after its creation, the project continues to express a remarkably contemporary vision, proving how timeless design can transcend trends while preserving its expressive strength.
The award was accepted by Emanuele and Giampaolo Benedini, Camilla Benedini, and Kinue Horikawa, highlighting the strong connection between Agape, Agapecasa, and the preservation of Mangiarotti’s design heritage.
For the past eighteen years, Agapecasa has preserved Eros within the Mangiarotti Collection, helping maintain its presence within the international design scene and reinforcing its cultural significance within the Agape universe.
This recognition celebrates not only an iconic product, but also the enduring ability of Italian design to create objects that remain relevant both aesthetically and culturally over time.
