Nerosicilia: the raw material comes from a quarry on Etna that dates from 1600. It is therefore a lava stone. The color of the stone is gray.
Baked in the oven at 800 ° it becomes a warmer gray. Baked in the oven at 900 ° it becomes darker. Baked in the oven at 1000 ° it becomes black and begins to create textures. Baked in the oven at 1100 ° the surface of the stone dissolves and creates unique and unpredictable textures.
With LaNera (1300 °), the most performing stone, cooking closes the pores and makes the stone more waterproof.
For the decorations, ceramic glazes are not used but real recycled glass. For the colors, the serigraphy technique is used, the glass is baked in the oven and becomes one with the stone. This is how the decorated collections are born.
